“BYOD” means bring your own device, a term most often used to describe bringing your own phone or device to a new phone carrier when switching. At Boost Mobile, we often use the term “BYOP” which means “bring your own phone” and can be used interchangeably with “BYOD”.

Bringing your own phone to Boost Mobile comes with several advantages:

  • Save money – No need to buy a new device; you can use the one you already own and save on any upfront costs or monthly device payments when you switch to Boost. 
  • Nationwide coverage – Stay connected wherever you are with Boost Mobile. Check out our Boost Mobile coverage map to see service availability in your neighborhood.
  • Keep your number – In most cases, you can transfer your existing number to your new Boost Mobile plan when you bring your own phone.

When you switch to Boost Mobile, you can bring your own phone to any of our Unlimited plans, provided your phone is compatible.

Yes! Boost Mobile allows you to transfer your number from another carrier when you bring your own phone to one of our plans.
